First Rotation
The Tigers are changing time zones for the weekend, traveling across the country to University of Denver for a dual meet.
This is the highest ranked opponent Towson will compete against so far this season.
Climbing the Ladder
Big or small, the accomplishments Towson has been making at every meet is helping the team move up the ladder of success this season.
While the Tigers fell to Maryland this past Thursday, they still managed to persevere in other areas. For starters, Towson posted the seventh consecutive score of 196, which breaks the program record for most recorded in a season. Strong efforts were put forth on vault as the Black & Gold posted the second highest score in program history after breaking the record less than two weeks ago. Led by
Camille Vitoff's 9.925 and
Jenna Weitz's 9.900, the Tigers put up a 49.325.
Three Tigers posted results good enough to make it into the top 10 scores in program history. The score from Thursday's meet also helped bump Towson's National Qualifying Score (NQS) to the highest ever recorded in program history - 196.270.
Scouting the Pioneers
No. 10 Denver is currently on a four-game winning streak with it's most recent victory being against Iowa State where the team set a program record of 49.600 on vault. This is the second time this season the Pioneers have set this record, with the first being a 49.550. DU topped host Iowa State 197.275-196.300.
The Crimson & Gold's highest score this season so far is a 197.650, the fifth highest in program history, received at a tri meet with Air Force and UC Davis on Feb 17. This performance was led by strong efforts on bars, as four Denver gymnasts tied for first with 9.925s.
The Pioneers have posted above 49.000s on bars, beam and floor at every meet this season so far. While the highest score was captured on vault, the bars (49.550) and beam (49.5250) season highs don't fall too far behind.
Graduate student Lynnzee Brown is the top scorer on vault (9.975) and bars (9.950). Jessica Hutchinson has beam with a 9.950 and floor with a perfect 10.
