Denver, CO – The Towson University gymnastics team completed the dual meet with Denver on Sunday afternoon, finishing with a 195.950. Two Tigers posted career highs and three made it onto the podium.
Denver took first with a 198.150. The Pioneers highest scoring event of the meet was floor where they swept and posted a program best 49.825, highlighted by Lynnzee Brown's perfect 10. Jessica Hutchinson was the second Denver gymnast of the meet to receive 10, logging it for uneven bars.
Towson found most success on bars, posting the fourth highest score in program history for the second time this season. This effort was led by a pair of 9.925s from
Steph Macasu and
Grace Vaillancourt.
How it Happened:
Bars – 49.325
- After not competing in the last three meets, Clara Hong made a strong comeback posting a 9.825.
- Steph Macasu had a stellar routing, picking up her second career best of the week in the event after posting a 9.925. Additionally she found her way to the podium, placing third overall.
- Grace Vaillancourt closed out the first rotation with a 9.925 as well, her second highest score this year on the event. The junior tied for third with teammate Macasu.
- Towson grabbed the early lead after No.10 Denver posted a 49.075 on vault.
Vault – 48.850
- Despite being Towson's weakest event of the day, the Tigers still managed to persevere.
- Polina Belanovski received her fourth highest score of the season, 9.850. The rookie tied for second overall.
- Lauren Bolen logged a 9.800.
- Adriana Hoffman and Jenna Weitz posted a pair of 9.750s.
- Denver took first at the conclusion of the second rotation after receiving a 49.600 on bars. The teams were separated by half a point going into the next rotation.
Floor – 48.900
Beam – 48.875
