Towson Women’s Swimming & Diving Releases 2023-24 Schedule

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's swimming & diving team has released the 2023-24 schedule, announced by head coach Anthony Bruno Monday afternoon.
 
The Towson women are slated to host three dual meets and the Tiger Winter Open at Burdick Pool this season. The Tigers make six stops on the road during the season to compete in three dual meets and three invitationals.
 
The Tigers, who finished fifth at the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships last season, open the season with back-to-back dual meets at Burdick Pool against La Salle and George Mason. The Explorers visit on Friday, Oct. 6. Diving is scheduled to start at noon. Swimming begins at 2:00 p.m. The Patriots visit Burdick Pool on Saturday, Oct. 7. Diving is slated for 10:00 a.m. Swimming follows at noon.
 
The first road trip on the campaign brings the divers to Clarion University to compete in the Don Leas Diving Invitational and the Diving Fall Classic on Oct. 13 and 14, respectively.
 
The following weekend, the swimmers travel to Old Dominion and William & Mary for a pair of dual meets. The Monarchs host the Tigers on Friday, Oct. 20 at 3:00 p.m. Towson faces off with the Tribe in the first CAA meet of the season on Saturday, Oct. 21 at 11:00 a.m.
 
The next stop is the Thomas Murphy Invitational at Loyola from Friday, Oct. 27 through Sunday, Oct. 29. Johns Hopkins and UMBC join the Tigers and Greyhounds in the invitational hosted at Mangione Pool. Preliminary heats begin daily at 10:00 a.m. with finals sessions slated for 6:00 p.m. each evening.
 
Towson visits Fairfax, Va. for the Patriot Invitational from Thursday, Nov. 16 through Saturday, Nov.18. Preliminary heats start at 10:00 a.m. each morning with the finals starting at 6:00 p.m. each evening.
 
Qualifying competitors will compete in the USA Swimming U.S. Open in Greensboro, N.C. from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2.

The Tigers will follow that with a short trip to Washington, D.C. to face Howard on Monday, Jan. 15 at 1:00 p.m.
 
CAA competition kicks back up with a Jan. 20 trip to Drexel. Start time for the meet will be disseminated on TowsonTigers.com when made available.
 
For the final CAA dual meet of the season, the Black & Gold welcome the Delaware Blue Hens to Burdick Pool on Saturday, Jan. 27 for Senior Day. Diving begins at 10:00 a.m. Swimming follows at noon.
 
In preparation for the conference championships meets, the Tigers will host the Tiger Winter Open at Burdick Pool over three sessions. Session one starts at 5:00 p.m. on Feb. 9. Sessions two and three start at 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. the following day, Saturday, Feb. 10.
 
The 2023-24 Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships is hosted at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex from February 28 – March 2.
 
Select competitors will participate in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship in Ocala, Fla. from March 14 –16 of 2024.
 
For qualifying competitors who eclipse the meet's time standards, the season will conclude March 20 – 23 in Athens, Ga. at the 2024 Division I NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships.
