Tianna Wallpher were named to the 2024 United States Women's Box Training Team, announced by USA Lacrosse last night.
The 48-player roster includes 42 runners, six goalies from a wide selection of talent ranging from U.S. national team players in field lacrosse to current college players.
The team will participate in three training camps this upcoming fall as it prepares for the inaugural 2024 World Lacrosse Box Championships in Utica. N.Y.
The U.S. women's box team training camps will all be held at St. Luke's Sport Center in Whitehall, Pa., on the weekends of Nov. 4-5, Dec. 2-3 and Dec. 16-17.
Carr is currently a member of the USA Lacrosse Board of Directors and is one of the most successful U.S. women's team players ever. She spent 14 years as a starting defender on the U.S. National Women's Lacrosse team - winning gold medals at the 2013 and 2017 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Women's World Cup championships. Towson recently hired Carr as its tenth head coach in program history.
Wallpher was a three-time All-CAA First Team and All-American Honorable Mention defender during her time at Towson. She ranks fourth all-time in program history in caused turnovers with 107 and ranks sixth and ninth in most caused turnovers in a season. The Ellicott City, Maryland native was part of the 2016 CAA Championship team that was a member of the Tiger defensive unit that ranked among the Top-10 in the nation for scoring defense all season.
