UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Towson University track & field team wrapped up a two-day meet at Penn State with multiple PRs and marks in the top-10 all-time list.
Sophomore
Leeann Redlo opened the meet on Friday evening for the Tigers with a new PR of 3395 in the pentathlon, which ranks second all-time in program history. She had marks of 1.74m in the high jump, 8.28m (PR) in the shot put and 5.33m in the long jump. The New York native clocked times of 9.08 in the 60m hurdles and 2:43.73 in the 800m.
In the 60m dash,
Maya Tucker clocked a PR of 7.58, placing ninth overall. The time ranks fourth fastest in school history.
Ty'Liyah Hannah started off the Saturday session for Towson with a PR of 24.97 in the 200m dash to finish in eighth place.
Cristal Cuervo made history for the Tigers in her first individual 400m race of the season, becoming the second Tiger in school history to break 55 in the indoor event. She clocked a PR of 54.94 to place fourth overall in the invite session.
Maya Tucker clocked a season best time of 24.57 in the 200m dash to win her heat in the invite section.
Manie Mevo earned a mark of 12.35m in the triple jump, which was good enough for fourth place. The sophomore now holds the top three marks in program history in the event.
Fatimah Owens tossed a season best 13.99m in the shot put to finish 13
th.
The 4x400 relay squad made up of
Maya Tucker (58.05),
Satori Valentine (57.39),
Baara Stewart (59.14) and
Cristal Cuervo (55.93) posted the fifth fastest time in program history. The quartet ran a 3:50.49 for seventh place.
