EDISTO BEACH, S.C. – The Towson University women's golf team wrapped up the first day of the Edisto Island Invitational on Monday evening. The Tigers played two rounds of 18, shooting 302 and 314 which resulted in a 12
th place finish at 48-over par. The Black & Gold finished ahead of Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) foe William & Mary.
Peyton Costabile was the team's top performer for the first day after having consistent rounds of 74 and 73, notching three total birdies across 36 holes. At 5-over par she currently sits tied for 14
th place in a field of 90.
Luciana Calbimonte shot season-low 73 and 78 to wrap up day one in the top-40. Additionally, she recorded two birdies during the first round.
Kanchana Kanchanaphiboon shot a 73 for her first round and followed up with an 82 for her second. The junior earned the most birdies on the team for the day, wrapping up 36 holes with four total.
Grace Oristian and
Kalyn Doss rounded out the squad with rounds of 82-81 and 82-83, respectively.
