STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Towson University cross country team wrapped up its 2024 season at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships finishing in 29
th place with 820 points. The Tigers ran the six-kilometer race with an average time of 23:16.90.
"We capped off what was a great season for us today," Coach
Evan Freeman said. "We finished close to our projections and our seniors did a good job up front. They really set the tone and finished on a high note. I am really grateful to this team, we came a long way this fall and have an exciting future ahead."
West Virginia's Ceili McCabe came in first place individually with a time of 19:11.20, West Virginia and Georgetown claimed the top two spots in the team competition.
Isabella Myles was Towson's top finisher; Myles ran a time of 22:23.50 and finished in 123
rd place. Her time was the 41
st best finish at the Regional Championships in Towson history.
Abbey Frock was the second Tiger to cross the finish line. Frock ran a 23:09.80 and placed 161
st overall. She was only four seconds behind her lifetime best six-kilometer race time.
Jennifer Maxwell finished in 171
st with a time of 23:24.30, only fifteen second off of her personal best.
Baara Stewart (23:43.30) and
Rebekka Hillier (23:43.50) crossed the finish line back-to-back to finish 183
rd and 184
th respectively.
Mari Collick ran a time of 24:00.20, and
Lexi Mogensen rounded out the squad with a time of 24:30.40.
