FAIRFAX, Va. – The Towson University men's and women's swimming and diving teams both finished day one of the Patriot Invite in first place. The men currently have 537.5 points and lead by more than a hundred over second place Florida Atlantic. The women scored 491 points from the first day's events.

How it Happened:
For the Women:

• The team of Bjartey Gudmundsdottir, Marissa Kleckner, Ryland Zuniga, and Claire Ryland won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:31.43.
• Addie Scott (4:53.91) and Bridget Thomas (4:54.40) took second and third in the 500 Free.
• Martina Ciriesi claimed the top spot in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.86.
• Gudmundsdottir took second place in the 50 Free with a time of 22.81.

For the Men:

• Luke Schwar, Benjamin Eischeid, Julian Najarro, and Daniel McLaughlin won the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:19.53.
• Stephen McDonald finished first in the 500 Free with a time of 4:25.60, Anthony Mortellite (4:32.01) came in fourth.
• David Walton (1:47.13) tied for first in the 200 IM, Kirill Pankov (1:49.23) placed third.
• Schwar won the 50 Free with a time of 20.03.
• The team of Sean Colson, Geoffrey Cradock, Eischied, and Schwar (3:13.34) won the 400 Medley Relay. Hugo Haggard, Walton, Carson Bauer, and McDonald (3:17.41) came in third.
