TOWSON, Md. – The Towson track & field team wrapped up competition after competing in two days of the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore, Maryland and the Yellow Jacket Invitational in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday,
Sara Veres threw a distance of 30.80m in the javelin at the Morgan State Legacy Meet, resetting her PR of 22.02 set two weeks ago. At the Yellow Jacket Invitational,
Fatimah Owens picked up a season best mark in the hammer low, tossing a distance of 48.96.
Cristal Cuervo clocked a 11.74 in the 100m dash while
Maya Tucker ran a 11.77. The two placed eighth and ninth, respectively. In her first long jump of the outdoor season,
Leeann Redlo jumped a distance of 5.49m which is a new PR for the sophomore.
Manie Mevo leapt 5.49m in the same event.
On Saturday down in Atlanta, the 4x100 relay (
Sydney Tucker,
Maya Tucker,
Cristal Cuervo,
Ty'Liyah Hannah) broke the school record for the third time this season, winning the event with a time of 44.67. These four Tigers now hold the top three marks in program history in the 4x100.
In the 800m at Morgan State,
Lexi Mogensen clocked a new PR of 2:18.83.
Baara Stewart won the event with a time of 2:16.11.
Cristal Cuervo ran a season best time of 23.82 in the 200m, placing sixth overall. The time ranks fourth in program history and is half a second off of her PR.
Maya Tucker ran a 24.50 in the same event while
Sydney Tucker clocked a 24.84.
In the triple jump,
Manie Mevo jumped a distance of 12.17m.
