Towson University successfully completed its sixth annual TU Big Give on April 17. The 24-hour day of philanthropy is designed to bring the campus community at large together to strengthen a variety of areas of TU.  
 
One year after raising more money than the previous four years combined, Towson Athletics and the Tiger Athletic Fund set a goal of finding 700 unique donors to participate in this year's Big Give. When the clock struck midnight and all donations were accounted for, TU Athletics raised $166,485 from 931 individual donors surpassing the goal by more than 200 donors.  
 
"After a record turnout last year, we knew expectations were extremely high heading into this year's Big Give. To once again exceed our goals is a testament to our donors, who recognize and value the hard work and commitment shown by our student-athletes, staff and campus partners," said Athletics Director Steve Eigenbrot.  
 
The Tiger Athletic Fund received complete buy-in from the entire department working closely with head coaches from every program who set aside time to make phone calls and send texts and emails to their alumni. The efforts paid off as 337 alumni athletes made gifts on Big Give, up from 219 in 2023. Twelve sports received challenge gifts from their alumni that were all eventually unlocked once more alumni gifts were received than from the year before.  
 
Highlights from the day included: 

• 85% of TU Athletics staff participated on Big Give. 
• 100% of all Head Coaches made a gift. 
  • 256 current student-athletes participated, with 100% of 9 team's rosters making a gift. 
  • An astounding 26% of alumni athletes from Gymnastics made a gift earning them $5,000 as winners of the alumni athlete challenge.  
  • Men's Golf had their best TU Big Give showing finishing in 2^nd place and earning $2,500 for their enhancement account. 
  • Gifts came in from 30 states plus Washington, D.C., Canada, and the United Kingdom. 
• Athletics accounted for 39% of all dollars raised by the University on Big Give. 

The Tiger Athletic Fund thanks all who participated in this year's TU Big Give. The support truly allows for coaches and administration to enhance the student-athlete experience, as the department strives to develop young people and compete for championships.
