COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Towson University track & field team finished its final-tune up before the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) championship next week, leaving the Kehoe Twilight meet on Friday evening with several solid performances including a new school record set by
Fatimah Owens in the discus throw.
Owens started off the meet for the Tigers on a high note, tossing 51.05m in the discus throw for a new PR and Towson school record. The senior broke the previous record of 50.85m, set by Phontavia Sawyer in 2019.
Kira Parsons set a new PR in the javelin throw by .10m, hitting a distance of 42.19m for a second-place finish. In the high jump,
Leeann Redlo earned a height of 1.72m.
On the track side,
Satori Valentine clocked her second fastest time in the 400m this season. The senior ran a 57.10, the fastest time for Towson in the event.
Baara Stewart clocked a 58.79 for her first collegiate individual 400m.
Ty'Liyah Hannah ran a 12.05 in the 100m dash, only .05 off of her PR, to take second place. In the 400m hurdles,
Spencer Settle clocked a season best and 10
th fastest time in program history of 1:03.04.
Cristal Cuervo won the 200m dash with a time of 23.91. Cuervo was the only runner to clock under 24 seconds.

The Tigers begin to wrap up the 2024 outdoor season next week as they will attend the CAA Championship hosted by Elon University in North Carolina on May 10 and 11.
