TOWSON, Md. – Former Towson University outfielder
Elijah Dickerson has agreed to terms with the Frederick Keys of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft League.
The MLB Draft League features an 80-game split-season amateur-professional format. The first 35 games of the season (June 4 – July 13) features draft-eligible players aiming to improve their stock ahead of the annual MLB Draft in July. After breaking for the draft, the league switches to a professional format, with paid players comprising the six rosters for the final 45 games of the season (July 18 – Sept. 4).
Dickerson earned All-CAA honorable mention distinction following the 2024 season after pacing the team with a .339 batting average in 54 games played. He stood fifth in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) with 75 hits during the regular season, and his 18 strikeouts were tenth fewest among qualified players. The redshirt senior added 25 extra-base hits, 30 RBI's, 35 runs scored and seven stolen bases during the campaign.
Dickerson's 21 doubles landed him third in the league and third all-time in single-season program history. Among career leaders, Dickerson's 46 doubles over his three seasons at Towson stand tenth all-time, tied with Liam Healy (1995-98), and first among three-year players.
Dickerson debuted for the Keys Thursday night and has started all four games. He's begun the second half of the season on a torrid pace, batting .471 (8-for-17) with three runs scored, one double and five RBI's.
