COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Towson University tennis team begins the 2024 fall campaign this Friday at the University of Maryland for the Bedford Cup.

Jamie Peterson commented. "As well as our returners and the game improvements that they worked on this summer. So far, I've liked what I've seen in practice, but we'll see how it goes in the competition."

Start Times: Friday, September 13 – 12:00 p.m. / Saturday, September 14 – 8:00 a.m. / Sunday, September 15 - 8:00 a.m.
Field: Maryland, George Washington, Mount St. Mary's, West Virginia University, Howard, Coppin State, George Mason, Loyola University of Maryland, Morgan State and Delaware State University
Format: Singles format will have two tie-break sets, 10-point breaker in the third with no additional scoring. Doubles format is set to have one tie-break set, seven-point breaker at six games all.

The Black & Gold have a large freshman class this year, welcoming seven new Tigers to the squad. The newcomers include

The returners for this season are sophomores Chandre Boshoff and
Ashira Murray, junior
Sania Suchinsky and graduate student
Olivia Rothfeld.
Last Season Recap
Towson had a 6-11 spring season last year, sweeping three of the six wins. The most dominant win was on March 29 when the Tigers took on the Seagulls at Salisbury, defeating the team 9-0. All six Tigers won in straight sets during singles action while in doubles action, the top two duos won 8-1 while the third won 8-3.
