Towson Tennis Completes Final Day of Bedford Cup with Seven Singles and Four Doubles Wins

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Towson University tennis team completed the first tournament of 2024 fall season, wrapping up the three-day Bedford Cup hosted by the University of Maryland on Sunday afternoon.

"Overall, this was a really positive experience for us," head coach Jamie Peterson stated. "Collectively, I feel like we made positive steps each day of the tournament. Aubrey Carper, Kiersten Tambe and Jocelynn Ginsberg all made it to the finals with Aubrey winning and two close loses. Today we went 4-1 in doubles and 7-3 in singles, a great way to finish against the best DI colleges in the Mid-Atlantic area. We look forward to getting back at it next weekend, hosting our Fall Hidden Dual tournament."

Murray claimed the second set 7-5 after loosing 6-3 in the first. The sophomore walked away with the win after defeating Matriccino in the tie breaker, 10-7. Suchinsky automatically earned the win for her match as Selah Stibbins of Howard dropped due to injury.
