PHILADELPHIA – Earning over a 49.1 score on each beam and bars, the Towson University gymnastics team earned a quad meet victory in Philadelphia, finishing with a season-high team score of 195.600.
 
Towson defeated meet host UPenn 193.250 and participants Yale at 191.500 and Ursinus 188.425.  Towson had the best score in all four rotations, earning a 49.200 on the balance beam, 49.150 on the uneven bars, 48.650 on the floor exercise and 48.600 on the vault.
 
Individually, Isabella Minervini won the all-around with a total score of 39.000 in her first-ever collegiate competition in the all-around.  Ava Harper won the vault with a score of 9.850 while Towson placed three on the podium on the balance beam, led by Clara Hong at 9.900 and followed by Chelsey Dennis and Celia Trotter at 9.875.
 
How it Happened for Towson (in Rotation Order)

• Bars – 49.200
  • Towson got off to a fast start as each Lauren Keener and Lauren Greene began with 9.850s.  Following a 9.750 from Clara Hong, Steph Macasu earned a season-high 9.875.
  • On the final rotation slot, Isabella Minervini notched a 9.875 to complete the 49.200 team score.
• Beam – 49.150
  • Ana Kenefick and Isabella Minervini began with 9.750s, then Celia Trotter notched a career-high 9.875 in third rotation.  Clara Hong then tied her career-high, notching a 9.900, the highest Towson individual score of any event in the meet.
  • Reigning EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week Chelsey Dennis notched a career-high 9.875 on sixth rotation to send Towson to the 49.100.
• Floor – 48.650
  • A couple of 9.675s got Towson started as the Tigers' finished up with four consecutive scores of at least 9.7.
  • Carmella Calafati notched Towson's top score of floor at 9.775, followed by Clara Hong at 9.750, Isabella Minervini at 9.750 and Polina Belanovski at 9.700.
• Vault – 48.600
  • Adriana Hoffman got Towson started on vault with a season-high 9.750.
  • Following three 9.625 scores, Ava Harper notched a meet-best and career-high 9.850, then Polina Belanovski finished with a 9.750.

Inside the Numbers

• Towson's performances in the bars, beam and vault are the highest rotation scores of the season.
• Isabella Minervini became the first Towson competitor in the all-around since 2022.

• Towson's next meet is in two weeks at the Showplace Arena in Upper Marlboro.  The Tigers will take on GW, New Hampshire, Temple and William & Mary.
