TOWSON, Md. – For the sixth consecutive season, Towson University will host the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) volleyball championship. The three-day event will be held at SECU Arena beginning Thursday, November 20. The championship match is Saturday, November 22.
Don Metil's squad finished in a tie for third place with a 12-4 conference record, one game behind Hofstra and Campbell, who shared the regular season title. The Tigers (21-6) are seeded third after sweeping Charleston, who also finished 12-4 during the opening weekend of league play, and will face No. 6 seed Stony Brook (11-14, 7-9 CAA) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
This will be the fourth straight season where the teams have met in the conference tournament, with the Tigers winning each time. Stony Brook defeated Towson twice at SECU Arena three weekends ago (Oct. 31-Nov. 1). The winner will face No. 2 seed Campbell in the semifinals on Friday at 6 p.m.
Since 2019, Towson is 159-29 (.846) and has won 87-of-102 league matches. The Tigers earned trips to the NCAA Tournament after winning the CAA tournament in 2019, spring 2021, fall 2021 and 2022.
