Meidling, Schrier Named 2026 Towson Men’s Lacrosse Captains

TOWSON, Md. – Towson University seniors Joe Miedling and Ryan Schrier will serve as captains for the 2026 men's lacrosse season, announced by head coach Shawn Nadelen.

Miedling and Schrier, each in their fourth year with the team, will be Towson captains for the first time.

"Joe and Ryan seamlessly grabbed hold of the leadership reigns this fall after the graduation of all our captains and a strong senior class this past year," said Nadelen.  "It was exciting to hear their teammates articulate how much they believe in Joe and Ryan because they constantly serve our team while always holding themselves accountable to the standards of Towson Lacrosse.  They have earned this responsibility and will have a strong group of upperclassmen to support them in their role as captains.  I am excited for Joe and Ryan and honored to work closely with them as captains for the 2026 season."

The pair will captain the two-time defending Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) champion.  Towson has been undefeated in CAA play the past two years in regular season and tournament contests, defeating Drexel 13-10 in the 2025 CAA title game to advance to its second straight NCAA Tournament.  Towson has finished in the top-15 nationally each of the last two years.

Meidling is one of Towson's primary SSDMs, playing 15 games last year with 31 ground balls and six caused turnovers.  The CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll member had 10 ground balls combined in the two games of the 2025 CAA Tournament.

Schrier rejoined the starting attack line in 2025, playing 15 games with 14 starts in 2025 with 12 goals, eight assists and 28 ground balls.  A member of the CAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll with high Honors, he had a seven-game point scoring streak last season.
