IJAMSVILLE, Md. – The Towson University Men's Golf team played the final round of the inaugural Testudo Cup hosted by the University of Maryland at P.B. Dye Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland. Playing in tough conditions, the Tigers shot 307 (+19) in the third round to finish 31-over par (895) and tied for 11
th place in the tournament.
Sky Aung shot 76 (+4) in the final eighteen holes to finish even par for the tournament and tied for 10
th place in the standings. This is Aung's best individual finish of the season and his third time in the top 15.
Ari Faana posted a 75 in the third round which was the best round three score from a Towson Tiger and saw him finish tied for 24
th with an overall score of five-over par. Faana's twelve total birdies was the most from a Tiger in the tournament.
After shooting 76 in the first two rounds,
Jai Sheth shot 76 in the third round as well to finish twelve-over par and tied for 53
rd individually. Matt Gonnello posted an 80 (+8) to remain tied for 69
th at 22-over par. Gonnello and Sheth tied for the most birdies from a Tiger in the third round with three apiece. Mike Matheson shot an 83 (+11) over the final 18 holes to end up tied for 65
th with a three-round score of seventeen-over par.
