Nabholz Signs with Tri-City ValleyCats of the MLB Frontier League

TOWSON, Md. – Former Towson University pitcher Nate Nabholz has agreed to terms with the Tri-City ValleyCats of the Frontier League, an official Major League Baseball (MLB) Partner League.

The Frontier League, the world's largest and longest running independent professional baseball league, annually moves the most players into MLB organizations from any independent league.

The Frontier League plays a 96 game schedule and features 18 clubs stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River and from the Ohio River to the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Nabholz was named a Second Team All-Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) selection as a relief pitcher after finishing the season with a team-leading 3.05 ERA in 19 appearances out of the bullpen.

The Cressona, Pa. native tied for the team lead with four winning decisions and added two saves. In 44.1 innings pitched, the right hander struck out 39 batters faced and walked just ten, making him the team leader in strikeout-to-walk ratio. From March 29 to May 2, Nabholz had a 17.1 innings scoreless stretch vs. CAA opponents and struck out 13 batters.
