TOWSON, Md. – Former Towson University infielder
Jordan Peyton has agreed to terms with the West Virginia Black Bears of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft League.
The MLB Draft League features an 80-game split-season amateur-professional format. The first 34 games of the season (June 4 – July 12) features draft-eligible players aiming to improve their stock ahead of the annual MLB Draft in July. After breaking for the draft, the league switches to a professional format, with paid players comprising the six rosters for the final 46 games of the season (July 16 – Sept. 3).
Peyton, a 2025 Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention, was the lone Tiger to start all 56 games last season, batting .289 with 15 extra-base hits, 33 RBI's and 43 runs scored. The Colonial Beach native had a team-high 18 stolen bases during the campaign.
In four seasons with the Black & Gold,
Peyton amassed 211 hits, 109 RBIs and 143 runs scored. In 15 pitching appearances over three seasons, Peyton totaled 16 strikeouts in 17.1 innings pitched.
In nine games played with the Black Bears,
Peyton is batting .275 with a double, four RBI's and seven runs scored. He's added five stolen bases and three walks in that span. In his lone appearance out of the bullpen, he tossed 1.0 hitless frame with two strikeouts.
