LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Towson University track & field team completed its final regular season meet this weekend at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational, hosted by Liberty University. On day two of competition, the Tigers picked up five new all-time marks, including a new program record set in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR).
Field Events
In the seeded high jump, Leeann Redlo finished second overall at 1.74m. Addison Inge additionally placed second overall in the unseeded high jump after clearing 1.59m.
In the seeded triple jump, Aniyah Toppin leapt a season-best 11.75m to finish eighth. In the unseeded triple jump, Jaylynn Dorsey placed first with a season-best mark of 11.58m.
Track Events
In the 200m, Bianca Durant ran a season-best 24.76 to place third overall in the event. Princess Asante also secured a top ten finish, placing seventh after clocking a PR of 24.94. Brianna Easley (25.02) and Kelis Milburn (26.02) also ran season-best times.
Qiora Rollins (39.11), Spencer Settle (39.26) and Jasmine Scott (40.13) all placed within the top 12 in the 300m, earning spots on the all-time list in the event in third, fifth and eighth, respectively.
In the DMR, the combined relay team of Anna Amato, Spencer Settle, Layla James and Baara Stewart clocked 11:48.91 altogether to place second at the meet and also setting a new school record for the Tigers by nearly eleven minutes. Their time also ranks at 49 in Division I.
Mydison Britton, Scott, Deschanique Douglas and Christal Pommells ran 3:47.84 in the 4x400m relay to place sixth overall and seventh on the all-time list.
In the mile, Rebekka Hillier (5:11.20) and Amato (5:11.28) set new personal bests.
