TOWSON, Md. – The No. 17 Towson University men's lacrosse team plays its last CAA regular season road game of the year on Saturday, April 18 at noon, taking on Fairfield.
The game will be broadcast live on YouTube Live with J.J. Duke and Brinley Anderson will have the call live from Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium.
Towson has won six straight games, coming off a 21-5 victory at Hampton, to stand alone in first place in the CAA at 4-0 and 8-3 overall. Fairfield is looking to snap a four-game losing streak, falling in a non-league tilt to Holy Cross 13-12 on Saturday to be 4-8 overall and 1-3 in CAA play.
Towson has been in the top-20 of the polls the last six weeks, being at #17 in each the USILA Coaches Poll and in the
Inside Lacrosse Media poll. Fairfield is not ranked in either poll.
Towson is 10-1 all-time vs. Fairfield with all games coming since the Stags joined the CAA in 2015. The Tigers have won the last seven games, including 14-9 on April 19, 2025 in Towson. Fairfield's lone win vs. Towson came on a 9-8 win in Connecticut on April 22, 2017.
A Towson victory would secure a share of the CAA regular season title and hosting rights to the upcoming CAA Tournament.
TOWSON - BACK-TO-BACK CAA CHAMPIONS
Towson enters 2026 as the two-time reigning CAA champion, including two undefeated regular seasons and wins in the CAA Tournament, leading to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances.
Towson has won 10 CAA championships, all coming since 2003. Its back-to-back titles are the first for Towson since winning three straight from 2015-17.
Towson's 10 conference tournament titles, since the establishment of men's lacrosse as a sport in the CAA, are the most in the league. Second is Delaware, which won five before leaving the league in 2025.
22 STRAIGHT CAA REGULAR SEASON WINS
Towson has been dominant in league play, winning the last 22 regular season CAA games dating back to the 2023 season. This includes 7-0 undefeated CAA regular season records in each 2024 and 2025. It is the longest consecutive conference win streak in program history and the longest currently in Division I.
In addition, Towson has a 22-game winning streak against conference opponents including league tournaments, the eighth-longest streak in DI history.

TOWSON - RANKED IN NATIONAL POLLS
Towson has been in the national rankings the last six weeks, standing at #17 in each the USILA Coaches Poll and the
Inside Lacrosse Media Poll after entering the season ranked #15 and #16 in each poll respectively. Towson has finished the past two seasons ranked nationally in the top-15. Towson is also the lone top-20 ranked team in the CAA.
The Tigers defeated now-#11/8 Virginia on March 7. Other Towson opponents either ranked or receiving votes in the polls include Drexel, Johns Hopkins, Loyola, Saint Joseph's and Villanova.
WEISSHAAR TAKEN SECOND OVERALL IN 2026 PLL DRAFT
Mikey Weisshaar was taken second overall in the 2026 PLL Draft on April 14.
Weisshaar becomes the fifth Tiger to be drafted into the PLL since the outdoor league was founded in 2019 and the highest Towson player to be taken in the PLL Draft. He is the fourth Tiger to be drafted in the top-five, with only Towson, Cornell, Duke and Virginia being able to claim that feat. Weisshaar will join fellow Towson players Ryan Drenner and Zach Goodrich on the Boston Cannons for the upcoming 2026 season.

Towson, which has the top scoring offense in the CAA with 13.3 goals per game, has three of the top four players in the league in points per game.

Alex Roussel's historic day in the win at Virginia on March 9 earned him USA Lacrosse Magazine DI Player of the Week. The senior attack had a hand in nine of Towson's 13 scores, earning career-highs of nine points, five goals and four assists in the road victory.

Mikey Weisshaar is in position to place himself high in the Towson record books. He currently stands second in Towson history with 140 goals and with 211 points. With 211 points in 57 career games played, he is averaging 3.70 points per game.
He currently stands with two of the top-eight single season records in goals in Towson history plus his 72 points in 2025 was seventh in Towson single season history.

VILLAGOMEZ EARNS CAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR THIRD TIME
Joaquin Villagomez was selected as the CAA Offensive Player of the Week after earning three goals and two assists in Towson's win over Monmouth on April 4. Towson has notched six CAA Offensive Player of the Week awards this season, including three by Villagomez.

Fairfield has been a participant in the last two CAA Tournaments.
The leading goal-scorer for a Fairfield team that is third in the CAA with 12.17 goals per game is sophomore attack Devin Lampron with 25 goals. Senior attack Jake Gilbert is the leader in points with 35, off 21 goals and 14 assists, and has 120 career points with the Stags.
Fairfield has run primarily through two goalkeepers this season, with junior Landon Whitney getting the last two starts and standing with a 45.4% save rate and 12.43 goals allowed average. 2025 CAA Defensive Player of the Year junior Julian Radossich is the league leader with 34 caused turnovers, adding 46 ground balls.
Over 62% of the team's faceoffs have been taken by junior Daniel Davis, who has won 54.9% with 56 ground balls.

NADELEN NAMED HEAD COACH OF U20 MEN'S NATIONAL TEAM
Towson head coach
Shawn Nadelen was selected as the head coach of the United States Men's U20 National Team. Nadelen coached the U.S. U20 Team to a silver medal finish in 2025 World Lacrosse Men's U20 Championship in South Korea this past summer. Towson assistant coach
Andy Shilling also served in the same role for the U.S. U20 Team.
Nadelen is the second Towson men's lacrosse head coach to lead one of the U.S. National Teams. Tony Seaman, Towson head coach from 1999 to 2011, was the head coach of the U.S. Men's Senior National Team for the 1994 World Lacrosse Championship.
