WILMINGTON, N.C. - "View from the Cheap Seats" is back to give you the inside look at the Tiger softball team as they are on the road to play UNC Wilmington. Senior left fielder Rachel Miller along with Media Relations Assistant Megan O'Brien will keep you posted throughout the weekend.
Hey Tiger Fans!
Greetings from warm and sunny Wilmington, North Carolina. It was another long trip on the bus down to North Carolina with multiple seasons of Grey's Anatomy...what is new? (Greys was enjoyed by everyone, well everyone but assistant coach Geoff Gordon and Anthony, our student trainer.)The trip was uneventful except for a little traffic around Richmond but that is also nothing new.
We got a quick lunch to-go from Jersey Mike's a little ways into North Carolina and continued on our way. Around 4:30 we arrived in Wilmington and immediately were so excited for the sunshine and warm weather. We actually broke a sweat at practice on Wilmington's field and everyone loved it. It was good to take some defense on the field because the infield is very hard and the wind makes fly balls curve just about every time. We were able to get a feel of those things and had a good practice to start the weekend right. If your Tigers hit tomorrow like they did today in batting practice, it could be a good weekend.
Of course, to top off the beautiful day and the good practice we had a delicious dinner at Carrabbas where we got to eat outside and continue enjoying the weather (and the gorgeous waiter with an awesome accent from South Africa). We are all ready to step it up tomorrow to take some wins home.
Talk to you tomorrow, hopefully after a couple of wins,
Rachel and Megan
