TOWSON, Md. – Towson University has announced that Kara Mueser (Elizabethtown Area/Elizabethtown, Pa.) has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on the Tiger track and field team in 2014-15 for Head Coach Roger Erricker.
“She improved tremendously from her junior to senior year,” Erricker said. “The drop in her times are what you look for and she is going in the right direction. The more we scouted her, the more we liked her.”
Mueser starred as a senior during the cross country season, showing significant improvement in the 5K. The top time of her career in the 5K was 19:44, which she recorded at the PIAA District 3 championships to place ninth out of 240 runners.
She was also outstanding in the 3,200-meter run and the 1,600-meter run during the track season. Her personal bests include a time of 11:46.86 in the 3,200 and 5:32 in the 1,600.
