RICHMOND, Va. - Sophomore pole vaulter Maggie Rampolla of Towson University was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, league officials announced.
It is Rampolla's first career weekly honor.
The sophomore won the pole vault event with a result of 12' 1.50" on Saturday as the Tigers won the Towson Invitational at Unitas Stadium. That mark broke her own school record of 11' 11.75", which she set earlier this season at Coastal Carolina.
"She has become extremely consistent and someone you count on for excellence," Towson Head Coach Roger Erricker said. "She works hard, has a positive attitude and is really doing a great job for us."
