BOX SCORE TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's lacrosse team held No. 5 Johns Hopkins to just two goals during the final 50 minutes of the game while pulling off a 7-5 upset victory over the Blue Jays on Tuesday night at Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
The win is Towson's first over a Top 5 opponent since also knocking off then-No. 5 Johns Hopkins, 13-12, on the road on April 27, 1996. It's also the first win for the Tigers over the Blue Jays since that game and the first home win for Towson over its crosstown rivals since 1989.
"I'm extremely proud and excited for our team," said Towson Head Coach
Shawn Nadelen. "Our guys did a great job staying at a high level throughout the game and keeping their emotions in check. Being the fourth team ever at Towson to beat Hopkins is a great accomplishment and something that we're proud of. We hope that it's the start of something exciting this year and that we're able to build on the momentum of this."
Senior
Andrew Hodgson and sophomore
Joe Seider tallied a pair of goals, while sophomore
