Tigers Host Longwood, Lehigh For Weekend Action

HOMESTAND CONTINUES: Towson wraps up a four-game home stand by hosting Longwood on Friday evening and Lehigh on Sunday afternoon. Game times are set for 6 p.m. and 12 p.m., respectively, at Unitas Stadium.

UPDATING THE TIGERS: Senior Heather Jenney tallied her first goal of the season against Lock Haven with sophomore Taylor Kvilhaug recording the assist. Sophomore Megan Boyle ranks second in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) with 22 saves on the season and ranks sixth in the conference with a .647 save percentage.

SERIES HISTORY: The Tigers have faced Longwood 10 times and hold a 5-4-1 advantage in the series. In last year's match-up, Towson earned a 3-2 victory over the Lancers.

This will be the 15th meeting between Towson and Lehigh. The Tigers are looking for their first win against the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh improved to 13-0-1 in the series with a 2-1 overtime victory last season.

SCOUTING LONGWOOD: Longwood enters Friday's contest with an 0-3 record. The Lancers fell 5-2 to Penn in their last game out. Senior Hollie MacDonald leads the team with 6 points (3 G) while goalkeeper Lauren Bernard has 15 saves on the season with a .556 save percentage.

SCOUTING LEHIGH: Lehigh (1-3) will travel to Columbia on Friday before facing the Tigers on Sunday. The Mountain Hawks dropped a 6-3 decision to Monmouth last time out. Junior Gabby Tofig and senior Lindsay Schott lead the Mountain Hawks with two goals each. Junior Julia Ward has made 23 saves on the season and has a .687 save percentage.

OH CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN: Seniors Heather Jenney and Kelsey Jenkens and junior Morgan Skavdahl have been selected to serve as team captains in 2015.

DEFENSIVE DYNAMOS: The Tigers have seen defensive saves made by two players so far this season. Senior Stacey Mackintosh and freshman Erika McKay have both recorded defensive saves.

MAKING AN IMPACT: Freshmen Devon Hake and Erika McKay are two of seven Tigers that have started all four games for the Tigers this season. Other players include Heather Jenney, Sam Zelenack, Morgan Skavdahl, Taylor Kvilhaug and Sabrina Davis.

UP NEXT: The Tigers head up the road to New Jersey for a pair of games. Rider hosts Towson on Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m. Towson then makes its way to Monmouth for a 12 p.m. matchup on Sunday.
