TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey team splits its weekend action, hosting No. 8 Delaware on Friday and heading to Georgetown on Sunday.

Towson welcomes Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Delaware to Johnny Unitas® Stadium on Friday at 6 p.m. On Sunday, the Tigers make their way to Cooper Field to face Georgetown for a 1 p.m. matchup.

The Series: Delaware
Towson and Delaware continue a long standing rivalry on Friday. The two teams have faced off 38 times since the 1979 season, with Delaware holding a 31-5-2 advantage in the series. Towson's last win over the Blue Hens was a 3-2 overtime win in 2010.

The Series: Georgetown
This will be the 32nd meeting between the Tigers and Hoyas. Towson holds a 17-13-1 lead in that series that began in 1979. Towson earned a 2-1 overtime victory over the Hoyas last season.

- Towson would get its third win of the season, the most wins in a season since Towson won 10 games in 2011.
- Get its first win over the Blue Hens since the 2011 season.
- Earn its first win over a ranked opponent since upending No. 18 American 4-3 in 2014.
- Defeat a CAA opponent for the first time since defeating Northeastern, 1-0 during the 2011 season.
- Record its third home victory of the season, the most since Towson won five inside Johnny Unitas® Stadium in 2011.

Towson has led the nation in saves per game all season. The Tigers are averaging 13.19 saves per game, the most among Division I programs. Towson sits just outside the top five for save percentage, ranking seventh with a mark of 0.763. As an individual,
Emilee Woodall averages 11.00 saves per game, the second-most among DI goalkeepers. Woodall's save percentage of 0.764 is the ninth-best in the nation.

Stopping the Free Chances
The Tigers gave up just three penalty corners over both games last weekend, facing a combined 16 chances. Towson's opponents have combined for 170 penalty corner opportunities this season. Towson's defense has stopped 149 of those chances, allowing its opponents to convert just 21 penalty corner goals. The Tigers denied both Villanova and Lehigh of a penalty corner goal this season, despite facing 23 combined chances.Â

Freshman
Korena Shaw recorded her first collegiate career goal at VCU. She is one of five Tigers to tally a goal this season.
Sabrina Davis also scored against the Rams, giving her three goals this season which is tied for the most on the team. This season, six Tigers have recorded points, led by
Lexi Butler with a team-best eight points (3g, 2a). Fifteen Tigers have taken shots with Butler tallying a team-high 14.Â

Familiar Faces
Head coach
Carly Campana has a great deal of history with Delaware, having played at the school from 2002-05. Campana led the Blue Hens to a CAA Championship in 2004 and served as a team captain in 2005. A three-time letter winner at Delaware, she tied the school record for most games played in a single season with 22 in 2004. Campana was also an assistant coach at the school in 2009-10.
