CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Towson women's track and field team set two school records on the final day of the 49er Classic, hosted by UNC Charlotte. The Tigers had 11 Top 10 finishes on the third day, led by
Zanae Freeland who posted two individual top-10 finishes and ran on two relays to set two school records at the meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED (TRACK EVENTS)- Zanae Freeland set a school record in the 100m dash finals after timing 11.80 for a seventh-place finish. She drastically improved on her previous personal-best for the event (11.93) and was nine-hundredths faster than the previous school record set in 2001.
- In the 200m dash finals, Freeland timed 24.35 to finish fifth. She was just three-hundredths off from matching her school record time of 24.32.
- Liz Reid finished fifth in the 400m dash finals, timing 58.04.
- The Tigers placed 25th and 26th in the 800m run as Kara Bucaro timed 2:22.97 and Erica Israel timed 2:23.35.
- Bucaro also finished 24th in the 1500m run with a time of 4:53.79.
- Allison Marella came in fourth-place in the 3000m run, timing 10:09.02. Colleen Cook followed in sixth-place (10:33.23) while Abby Gauthier placed 11th (10:53.94).
- Megan Knoblock ran the third-fastest time in program history in the 5000m run. She timed 17:24.56 for a fourth-place finish. Her time ranks third on the Tiger Top 10 list overall.
- The Tigers set a school record the for 4x100m relay as Rachel Laryea, Freeland, Arianna Waller and Reid combined for a fourth-place finish of 46.80.
- The 4x400m relay team of Megan Kelly, Emily Wenger, Freeland and Reid earned a third-place finish with a time of 3:52.79.
HOW IT HAPPENED (FIELD EVENTS)- Emerald Vickers tied for eighth-place in the high jump with a height of 1.55m (5'1").
- Wilhelmina Austin came in seventh for the triple jump, posting a distance of 11.63m (38'2").
- Taylor Giles led the Tigers in the shot put with a distance of 10.72m (35'2").
- Ashleigh Stallings was the runner-up in the javelin throw as she made her season-debut for the event. Stallings had a distance of 41.18m (135'1").
UP NEXTTowson continues its outdoor season with a busy weekend, splitting its squads between Florida and Virginia. The Tigers will compete at the Pepsi Florida Relays, hosted by the University of Florida from March 31-April 2. Towson will also compete at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary from April 1-2.
