TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University field hockey program is set to celebrate its 40
th anniversary of the NCAA elevating field hockey to a championship sport during the weekend of September 10-11.
The 40
th Anniversary event begins Saturday, Sept. 10 as the program welcomes all alumnae, their families and significant others to the Towson football home opener against Saint Francis University in Johnny Unitas® Stadium. An in-game reception at 4:30 p.m., with light snacks and a cash bar will be offered. Tours of the field hockey locker room, renovated Towson Center and brand new indoor practice facility will be offered before the 6 p.m. kickoff.
Entrance to the Towson football game will be free to field hockey alumnae and their families, as well as the in-game reception on the field level of Johnny Unitas® Stadium.
Sunday's events begin with tours of the field hockey locker room, renovated Towson Center and brand new practice facility. At halftime of the noon nonconference game against Ohio University, all alumnae present at Johnny Unitas® Stadium will be recognized.
Following the game, there will be a postgame reception at the Green Turtle Towson.
