TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's tennis program prepares for a busy three-match weekend, facing George Washington and George Mason on the road before returning home to host Villanova.

Match Details
Towson opens the weekend with a 1 p.m. match against George Washington on Friday. The Tigers and Colonials are set to compete at George Washington's indoor home, the Southeast Tennis Center. On Saturday, Towson takes on George Mason at 5 p.m. at Trump National in Potomac Falls, Virginia. The Tigers return home to host Villanova on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Bare Hills Racquet and Fitness Club.

Opening Weekend
Towson played a pair of matches in North Carolina to open its spring schedule last weekend. The Tigers fell to Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) rival Elon, 6-1, before rebounding with a 7-0 sweep of North Carolina Central.

Lucy Gloninger leads the Tigers with a team-high eight singles wins this season, including 2-0 mark in dual matches. The doubles team of
A.J. Gomer and
Renate van Oorschodt are 5-2 in doubles play this season and a perfect 2-0 at the No. 1 doubles flight for dual matches.

Scouting the Opponents
George Washington enters this weekend with a 2-3 record after splitting its matches last weekend. The Colonials fell to Massachusetts, 6-1, before defeating Navy, 5-2. Sophomores Sara Grubac and Maria Siopacha each have a team-high three singles wins. Siopacha and freshman Melis Bayraktaroglu have combined for a team-leading three doubles wins this season.

George Mason dropped a 7-0 decision to Delaware last weekend to fall to 3-3 on the season. The Patriots are looking to snap a three-match losing streak, with their only win of the spring schedule coming against Morgan State, 3-2 on Jan. 27.

Villanova is looking for its first win of the season this weekend. The Wildcats travel to Navy on Saturday before facing the Tigers on Sunday. Villanova was swept 5-0 by Temple last time out and fell to Iowa State, 6-1, in its season opener. The Wildcats earned the doubles point over the Cyclones, winning two of the three doubles matchups. Towson will take a week off before returning to the courts for a pair of matches in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Tigers battle Buffalo in a neutral-site match on March 4 at 4 p.m., before taking on Duquesne on March 5 at 3 p.m. Â
