PIKESVILLE, Md. - On a night where the Towson University women's tennis team honored tennis humanitarian and Baltimore native Sol Schwartz in front of hundreds of fans, the Tigers did not lose a single set en route to a 7-0 victory over local rival Mount St. Mary's Saturday at Baltimore Fitness & Tennis.
Towson (1-1) picked up its first win of the season, totaling its seventh victory by shutout over the last two seasons.

Jamie Peterson and everyone who came out to support Towson Tennis in Sol's honor."
How It Happened
- The Tigers earned a quick point in doubles, sweeping all three matches in 45 minutes. Senior Lucy Williams and junior Yevgeniya Shusterman picked up a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles while seniors A.J. Gomer and Renate van Oorschodt as well as freshman Alexa Martinez and junior Lucy Gloninger each earned 6-2 victories.
- In singles, Martinez won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 while van Oorschodt won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5.
- Senior Barbora Vasilkova sealed the win for Towson at No. 3 singles, posting a 6-0, 6-1 victory to secure the fourth point for the Tigers.
- Senior Nicole Shakhnazarova picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles as did red-shirt sophomore Claire Bedi at No. 6.
- Gomer finished the night with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles.
Up Next for Towson
- Towson does not return to action until Sunday, February 11 at the United States Naval Academy. That match gets underway at 2 p.m.
