Getting to Know the Tigers: Olivia Blasone

TOWSON, Md. – On Fridays as the Towson University field hockey team participates in its spring season, TowsonTigers.com will introduce you to a member of next year's incoming freshman class, beginning with the five that signed during the early signing period.

This week's Tiger Cub is Olivia Blasone.

Blasone comes to Towson from Bermudian Springs High School where she was a team captain in 2017 and named YAIAA Division III Player of the Year by the York Dispatch, GameTimePA and Hanover Evening Sun. She finished her career with 118 points on 37 goals and 44 assists. She set the school record with 29 assists as a senior to go along with 22 goals as the Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals of the state championship for the first time in 10 years and finished with a 23-3 record with 19 shutouts. She also had 39 points on 15 goals and nine assists as a junior. She was a three-time YAIAA Division III All-Star selection and winner of the Amanda Strous Sportsmanship Award. She played club for Central Penn Elite.

Jackson on Blasone: "Olivia has been a part of the Towson field hockey family for years. She's consistently attended our camps and clinics and she already feels like one of our hockey sisters.  We've really enjoyed watching her grow over the past few years. Olivia is the definition of a selfless player, setting her high school record of most assists in a single season. She steps on the field and looks to serve her team, not herself. She hooks her teammates up with passes that put them in a position to finish and attack. Olivia is not only a powerful athlete, but she's a true class act. We are so excited she's going to be a Tiger Cub next fall."
