TOWSON, Md. – Towson field Hockey head coach
Katie Gerzabek Salem has announced the signing of Ann Njoroge on Wednesday. Njoroge is the twelfth player overall and seventh rookie addition of the 2026 class.
"We're excited to have Ann a part of our TUFH family! Competing with Scotland's junior national teams has given her valuable international experience and a strong understanding of the game at a high level." Coach Gerzabek Salem announced. "Ann's athleticism and vision will be tremendous assets to our defensive unit, allowing us to play with both composure and intensity in the backfield. Her drive to continue growing and competing at the highest levels stood out from our first conversation and that mindset and ambition will be a great addition to our program and our culture."
Ann Njoroge is a backer hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland where she played for The Mary Erskine School as well as Grange Hockey Club who finished sixth in the Scottish Premiership League in 2025. She was selected to play in and went on to win the 2025 Aspiring Brave Cup and has been selected to play for the Scotland U16s who she will be playing with in the 6 Nations Tournament in 2026. Playing for The Mary Erskine School, Njoroge was the 2025 Player of the Year and helped lead the team to 2025 and 2026 Countwells Cup Tournament Championships and a 2023 School Scottish Cup Junior Plate. She also was the School Scottish Cup runner-up in 2025 and 2026.
"I chose Towson mainly because of Coach Katie and her vision for the team. We really hit it off from the first call, and it was so easy to talk with her." Njoroge said, "The team at Towson also seems so lovely and nice, and I feel Towson is on the verge of winning a historic championship, and I want to be a part of that."
