Yevgeniya Shusterman each picked up a singles victory, but after earning the doubles point, Delaware won the first four singles matches to seal a 5-2 Colonial Athletic Conference (CAA) victory Wednesday at the Towson Center Courts.
Despite the loss, the Tigers (11-10, 1-4 CAA) have won three of their last five at home and five out of eight this season.
The Blue Hens swept all three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead and won the first four singles matches before Shusterman got Towson on the board, defating Annie Jaskulski at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 3-6, 10-4. Gomer followed with a 0-6, 6-3, 6-2 victory over Amanda Studnicki for the Tigers' second point.
Senior
Renate van Oorschodt dropped a tightly contested match at No. 5 singles to Sarah Hall, 5-7, 6-1, 10-4.
Towson faces the College of Charleston at UNCW on Friday beginning at 10 a.m.
