Why did you choose Towson?
"I chose Towson because I came to a camp my sophomore year in high school and fell in love with the campus. My mom and I visited a lot of prior schools but none of them gave me the "homey" feeling that Towson did. I also liked that it was only a two-hour drive from my home.
Â
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat?
"Instagram."
What do you like most about playing softball?
"My favorite part about playing softball is the relationships I form from the sport. Basically my entire future bridal party will be my closest friends who I met through softball. I also like when we play schools both in and out of our conference, and I get to see girls I used to play with or against, living out their dreams of playing Division I ball."
Â
What is your favorite thing about playing for Coach Costello?
"It's not her shoes, it's the way she moves."
Â
What does your uniform number mean to you?
"My sister started off as number 3 and my brother's basketball jersey is number 3. But somewhere down the road we added another 3 and 33 became a family number. But when I got to Towson it was taken, so I decided to keep the 3, and put a 2 in front of it. Therefore, I became 23, like Michael Jordan."
Â
How special is it to you to be playing in Philadelphia this weekend?
It's super special to be playing in Philadelphia this weekend because that is where my family is from. We have a really big family with crazy schedules so coming out to Maryland on the weekends can be a hike, but being able to play in their backyard this weekend makes me really excited to see them all."
Â
What's the most challenging aspect of being a student-athlete?
"Traveling on the road while missing and having to make up exams." Â
Â
Who's the first person you are calling or texting after games?
"Honestly my entire family of 20 has a group chat, and after a game, when I get on the bus, the first thing I see is their texts that have blown up my phone. My grandparents are my biggest fans and are streaming each and every game from their iPads at home. They are always sending me a personal text telling me how proud they are of me. I enjoy calling either my parents or big sister after the games because they always keep it real with me and tell me how I can improve my game."
Who was your favorite athlete growing up and why?
"Probably Chase Utley because he was the cutest Phillie."
What age did you know you wanted to play softball in college and what made you realize that?
"I knew I wanted to play softball in college at a young age because I grew up watching my big sister play. She played Division II softball at Lock Haven University and I admired her recruiting process."
What song/band is most likely to be playing on your phone?
"Anything Beyonce."
Do you have any pregame rituals or traditions?
"Before every game, we play volleyball. It gets us pumped. Gotta give a shout out to Jac, Baz, Kaylen, Cole,
Kendall Arcia, & Shelby."
What current show could you see yourself being a part of?
"This is Us. I am obsessed with this show. The two main characters Jack & Rebecca remind me a lot of my loving parents because they are always constantly working hard to give their three children the best life possible."
What is the best thing about attending Towson?
"The close friendships I have formed during my 4 years of living in Maryland."
Â
What will you miss about your teammates and being part of the Towson softball program?
"I will miss team 43. They are the goofiest team yet, and I will miss the constant laughs on the bus rides, in the locker room, weight room, and both on/off the field."
Words to live by?
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."
