Senior Sendoff

TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University baseball team will close out the 2018 season May 17-19 at Schuerholz Park against James Madison. First pitch for the first two games of the series are 3 p.m., while Sunday's Senior Day will begin at 1 p.m.

The forecast for the weekend is calling for wet weather all week and temperatures in the low 70s.
 
Series History vs. James Madison
The Tigers and Dukes have met 93 times prior with JMU holding a 52-41 advantage in the series. The Tigers swept the series at Schuerholz Park in 2016 and have won nine of the last 11 played at home.
 
Seniors Honored
This weekend marks the final games in a Tiger uniform for 11 seniors and they will be honored prior to Saturday's game. Those being honored are Michael Adams, Mason Anderson, Logan Burke, Alex Cuas, Colin Gimblet, Mark Grunberg, Tristan Howerton, Billy Lennox, David Marriggi, Chris Ruszin and Charlie Watters.
 
Coaching Ties
There will be some familiarity in the dugouts this weekend as Towson assistant coach Tanner Biagini played collegiately at VMI under JMU head coach Marlin Ikenberry.
 
Long Balls vs. Maryland
Towson got home runs from Richard Miller and Billy Lennox in the game against Maryland. It was the seventh homer of the season for Miller and the first for Lennox.
 
Cuas Shuts Down Charleston
Alex Cuas had his best outing of his career against the College of Charleston as he allowed just one unearned run on four hits over seven innings. He also struck out a career-best seven.
 
Reeser Earns First Save
Kody Reeser earned his first career save as he pitched the final two innings against the College of Charleston. He needed only 2 pitches to get three outs in the eighth, then had to battle out of a jam in the ninth.
 
Palacios Walks Way Up Lists
Richie Palacios is quietly climbing up the single-season charts for walks in a season with 48. He is currently second on the list.

Scoring 50 Twice
Shorstop Richie Palacios scored his 50th run of the season in the series finale against the College of Charleston. It marked the second time in his career that he has scored 50 runs in a season (55 in 2016). He is just the second player in program history to surpass 50 runs scored twice during his career, joining Gregg Davies, who scored 57 runs in 2001 and followed it up with 59 runs scored in 2002.
