TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University women's golf team continues its 2019-20 season by hosting the Towson Invitational Monday and Tuesday October 14 and 15.
Once again, the Eagle's Nest Country Club in Phoenix, Maryland will serve as the host of this year's event. Eagle's Nest Country Club is a 6,162-yard par 72 course.
Teams will play 18 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Teams will have tee times starting at 10:00 a.m. on Monday and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Shotgun starts each day.
The Tigers welcome Bucknell, Fairleigh Dickinson, Navy, St. John's and Wagner to the two-round event. Admission is free.
The Tigers finished second at last year's event and had five players finish among the top 10 individually with sophomore
Jayla Kang leading the way. Kang finished third overall after shooting an even par 72 second round.
Senior
Erica Han was sixth overall with a 152 (77-75), junior
Sarah Perine and sophomore
Jordan Cornelius finished tied for eighth overall as they all shot a two-round 154.
Jenny Buchanan, who graduated this past spring was also tied for eighth.
Through three events this fall, the Tigers have a pair of top three finishes (Bucknell Invitational and the Starmount Forest Fall Classic). In its last tournament at the Starmount Forest Fall Classic, Cornelius led Towson by finishing tied for second overall (+4). Cornelius has finished among the top 20 in each tournament this fall while Han has two top 20 finishes.
