TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's swimming and diving teams hosts its first home meet against William & Mary on Saturday inside Burdick Hall.
The meet is scheduled to begin with the diving competition at 10 a.m. then swimming starts at 1 p.m.
Swimming Spotlight
Before each meet, the swimming and diving program will introduce us to someone in the senior class who will share highlights and their expectations of the season. This meet we introduce you to senior
Tommy Whitman.
The electronic film and media major is from Abington, Pennsylvania and will be competing in the freestyle this season.
With the increase of the newcomers Whitman wants to ensure that the group grows as a whole.
"I am definitely looking forward to seeing this team come together and grow not just as individuals, but also as a group. We have a large group of young swimmers and divers that have potential to do some great things," said Whitman.
Even though the Tigers compete against William & Mary this weekend, Whitman and the Tigers are looking forward to the mid-season meet at the Bucknell Invitational.
"We are currently working towards our mid-season meet, the Bucknell Invitational, and plan to build on our dual meet success in order to have momentum moving forward," said Whitman.
"Personally I am looking to swim some lifetime best times at the Bucknell Invitational and with the way my teammates have been swimming I believe many others will as well."
Rounding out the season everyone is excited for the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championships and as Whitman describes it, the Tigers are ready to throw down.
"I am definitely most excited for our conference meet," said Whitman.
"As a team we will be ready to throw down some lifetime best swims. We know what we have to do to be successful and will carry our excitement to create a positive and loud atmosphere."
For every home meet after the announcer introduces the men and there is a brief pause, steer your direction to their locker room to watch the explosive and energy that Whitman and the team bring to you!
