TOWSON, Md. – The Towson University men's basketball team returns to action when it hosts Bryn Athyn College.
After opening its season with a solid 14-point victory over George Washington on Tuesday, the Tigers believed they laid a foundation for bigger things ahead. Playing with the skill and fire that defines a champion, the Tigers enjoyed some good moments, including a few dunks, against the Colonials.

- Brian Fobbs was named to the 2019-20 Lou Henson Award preseason Watch List Wednesday afternoon. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the nation's top Division I mid-major player.

- The Tigers are looking for their first 2-0 start since 2016.
- Towson leads the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in 3-point field goal percentage (58.3).
Towson Update
- Towson opened its season beating George Washington, 72-58 on Tuesday at SECU Arena.
- It was Towson's first win over George Washington since 1981.
- The Tigers ended a nine-game losing streak to the Colonials.
- Juwan Gray (19 points), Betrand (18) and Jason Gibson (11) all enjoyed career best scoring totals. Brian Fobbs tallied 12 points.
- Dennis Tunstall, Allen Betrand and Charles Thompson combined for 19 rebounds in its win over George Washington.
- Tunstall, Jakigh Dottin and Gray combined for six of Towson's seven steals.
- The Tigers had 14 assists on their 29 baskets.
- Dennis Tunstall has 79 career blocked shots and 449 career rebounds. He's poised to become the ninth player in program history to have 100 career blocked shots. In addition, with two blocked shots, he'll move past Lawrence Hamm (80) and into 10th place on the all-time blocked shot charts.
- Towson will play games against opponents from nine different conferences. A total that could increase depending upon how the Charleston Classic and the D.C. Hoops Fest shake out.
- Towson never trailed in the second half and led by double digits over the final 16 minutes against George Washington.
A Look At Bryn Athyn
- Bryn Athyn was selected seventh in the eight-team Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) preseason coaches' poll.
- Head coach Justin Baxter has been very busy on the recruiting trail over the last two years with 14 of the 17 players on the 2019-20 team who are either freshmen or sophomores.
- Bryn Athyn's 17-player roster is the largest in program history and the seven freshmen on the team are the second-most in program history--only second to the 2013-14 team, the program's first year.
- The Lions lost 66.2 percent of its scoring from last year's team with the graduation of Larry Stevenson III (16.8 ppg), Lamarr Crenshaw (16.5 ppg), and Rahim Washington (15.6).
- Tariq Moore is Bryn Athyn's top returning scorer from the 2018-19 team. Moore--who only started in five games last year--averaged 7.3 points per game. He averaged 10.5 ppg in conference play.
- Despite having only six players on last year's team measuring up at 6-0 or taller, Bryn Athyn led the CSAC in blocked shots with 3.0 per game. Kiaeem Comegys--the Lions' tallest player on the 2018-19 team at 6-4--led the conference with 1.2 blocks per game. Eight of the players on this year's team are 6-0 and taller, topped by freshman David King III at 6-5.
- Freshman Raymond Burrows played 40 minutes away from Towson at Bel Air High School. In addition to basketball, he threw shot put and discus.
- Bryn Athyn College is a small, private Christian liberal arts college located 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia in the borough of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, a National Historic Landmark District. Bryn Athyn is affiliated with the General Church of the New Jerusalem.

Tigers in the Community
The Towson University athletics department deems community service as one of its highest priorities to give back to the Greater Baltimore area. For the seventh consecutive year, the department exceeded 10,000 hours of community service to the Greater Baltimore region, finishing with 11,162 hours of community service in the 2018-19 academic season. Towson ranked No. 1 nationally for community service and won the 2018 National Championship for Community Service through the Helper Helper NCAA Team Works Competition. Towson had a 97% participation rate, attended 118 community service opportunities and volunteered with 19 organizations. Towson won the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award from Susan G. Komen of Maryland.
