Towson Tied For Third After Two Rounds

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The Towson University women's golf team is tied for third after two rounds of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) championships.

How It Happened
  • Towson shot 310, which was six strokes better than Friday's first round to tie College of Charleston heading into the final round.
  • Towson and Charleston are shooting 626 through two rounds.
  • The Tigers are 12 strokes ahead of James Madison.
  • After carding a four-over 76, freshman Jordan Cornelius is tied for second overall with the College of Charleston's Victoria Huskey.
  • They each have a two-round score of 149 (+5).
  • Cornelius is one stroke behind UNCW's Thao My Nguyen (148 +4).
  • Helped by shooting an even par 36 on the back nine, Cornelius was Towson's leader in the second round.
  • Cornelius birdied the 13th and 17th holes to help her overcome a tough start in which she bogeyed three consecutive holes on the front nine.
  • Cornelius leads the field in par-3 scoring with a 2.88 average (-1).
  • Cornelius is also tied for the lead in par-5 scoring with a 4.88 average (-1).
  • Erica Han is tied for 14th overall after carding a five-over 77 highlighted by three birdies.
  • Han, who has a two-round score of 159 (+15), was two-over 38 on the back nine.
  • Cornelius and Han have combined for nine birdies through two rounds.
  • Alix Lowe shot a six-over 78 highlighted by birdies on the 16th and 17th holes.
  • Julia Calomiris and Sarah Perine are tied for 20th overall with a two-round score of 161.
  • Calomiris finished the second round with a seven-over 79.
  • Her only birdie was on the fourth hole.
  • Perine ended the day shooting an 82 (+10).
