TOWSON, Md. - Towson University softball team will travel to Newark, Delaware this weekend for a three game conference series on April 6-7. All games will be played at the Delaware Softball Diamond with the first game beginning at noon on Saturday.
Towson (14-18, 1-5 CAA) fell 13-6 in 11 innings a midweek doubleheader against Morgan State.
Riley Thies,
Nicole Kidwiler,
Julia Smith-Harrington and
Chloe Poulich each had two hits for the Tigers, while
Breanna McDowell,
Jessica Swistock and
Reyan Tuck had one hit a piece.
Kidwiler and Smith-Harrington each scored two runs for Towson while Thies had one.
Towson is led by
Nicole Stockinger who leads the teams in homeruns (8) and is also 10th in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in hits (28). Her batting average is .386 and has 25 runs batted in. Smith-Harrington leads the teams in doubles (11) and is ninth in the CAA.

Sara Johnson is leading the way with 76 strikeouts and a 3.51 ERA.
Scouting the Blue Hens
Delaware (15-18, 2-4 CAA) defeated Monmouth this past Wednesday 5-4, then fell 2-1 in the nightcap of the doubleheader.
The Blue Hens are led by Brittney Mendoza who has 22 RBI's, followed by Brooke Glanden who has 20. Mendoza also leads the teams in doubles (10). Anna Steinmetz has a .360 batting average and lead the team in homers (6).
In the circle Sarah Piening is 8-9 and has 65 strikeouts.
