Swimming Spotlight
Before each meet, the swimming and diving program will introduce us to someone in the senior class who will share highlights and their expectations of the season. This meet we introduce you to senior
Matt Essing. The economics major is from Waldorf, Maryland and is ready to be back in action after a small break.
"This is our first meet after a long break, it will be a chance to see where we are at as a team," said Essing. "We want to shake off the rust and get back into the racing mentality."
As a senior and captain this year, Essing has been proud to lead by example. He looks forward to seeing how the underclassman keep up as conference swimming really gets underway.
"I am looking forward to seeing how our young guys preform during our conference meet," said Essing. "They have a lot of potential to make a serious impact."
Essing's overall goal for to always go best times. As a team he wants to see the Tigers rewrite the record board, especially in the freestyle relays.
A small secret into Essing's momentum going into a meet is the mentality he has. He treat's every meet as if it's the championship final.
