PHILADELPHIA- Breaking pool records was the highlight of the day for the Towson University men's swimming and diving team as they competed at Drexel Saturday afternoon.
Michael Fazio not only won the 200 freestyle (1:39.88) but also broke a pool record inside the Drexel Pool.
Overall, the Tigers fell to Drexel 166-134.
How it Happened
- Nick McClure, Ryan O'Leary, Kenny Afolabi-Brown and Matt Essing came in second in the 200-yard medley relay (1:33.58).
- Drew Munson was victorious in the 1000-yard freestyle finishing with a time of 9:37.53. Matt Kenney came in third (9:50.40).
- Ryan Baldino came in third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.18).
- Trey Adkins was third in the 100-yard backstroke (53.78). Brendan Farrar came in fourth (53.81) and Tommy Whitman (54.37) was fifth.
- Afolabi-Brown saw a second place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a finals time of 58.38. O'Leary took third (58.65).
- McClure came in second in the 200-yard butterfly (1:49.82).
- Essing won the 50-yard freestyle with a winning time of 20.73.
- Will Canny won the 1-meter diving with a score of 302.70.
- Fazio touched the wall second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.34. Essing took third (46.43) and Baldino came in fourth (46.84).
- Farrar came in second in the 200-yard backstroke (1:55.27).
- O'Leary finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:10.77). Nick Fitzwilliam came in third (2:12.19). Jack Lafond was fourth (2:12.92).
- Munson also dominated the 500-yard freestyle winning with a time of 4:41.84. Kenney finished in third (4:45.29).
- McClure came in second in the 100-yard butterfly (50.50).
- Canny scored second in the 3-meter dive (307.05), while Ajani Dorner scored 280.50 finishing in third.
- Patrick Flint finished in third in the 400-yard individual medley (4:12.60) and Hunter Wright came in fourth (4:15.39).
- Towson ended the night winning the final event in the 400-yard freestyle with Fazio, Baldino, Adkins and Essing.

The Tigers are back in Burdick Hall on Friday, Jan. 24 for senior day. Towson will compete against Delaware in a dual-meet, with diving beginning at 2:30 p.m. and swimming starting at 5:30 p.m.
