KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Jordan Cornelius and Julia Calomiris led the Towson University women's golf team during the opening round of the Kiawah Island Classic Sunday afternoon.
 
The sophomore duo each carded a one-over 73. They are tied for 31st individually and the Tigers are 23rd overall, which is in the top half of the massive 53-team field. Erica Han and Sarah Perine shot a seven-over 79 for Towson. Jayla Kang finished with a nine-over 81.
 
Calomiris led the Tigers with five birdies. Perine added four birdies.
 
This was Towson's first tournament of the spring.
 
The Tigers will tee off the second round at 9 a.m.
