GILBERT, Ariz. – Announced Monday by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, three members of the Towson University field hockey team have been named Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholars of Distinction.
Pamela Abbott,
Tess Okkerse and
Jessica von Schmidt-Pauli all received the accolade after earning a 3.9 or better cumulative GPA through the fall semester.
For Abbott and von Schmidt-Pauli this is the second consecutive year of receiving this honor. Abbott holds a 4.0 cumulative grade point average while von Schmidt-Pauli holds a 3.929. Both Tigers earned a 4.0 in the Fall 2019 semester.
This is Towson's third academic honor of the spring after receiving the National Academic Team Award early this month, and after placing 20 student-athletes on the National Academic Squad on March 10.
