TOWSON, Md.- The Towson University women's golf team has announced their schedule for the spring 2022 season.
"The ladies set a strong foundation this fall," shared head coach
Shannon Briggs. "Moving up in the GolfStat rankings was a main goal that was accomplished. Setting a new 54-hole record and watching
Julia Calomiris tie the school record for 18 holes were all memorable moments."
For the only tournament in the month of February, the Tigers will be heading south to play in the San Jose Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, Fla. hosted by Jacksonville University. The tournament will be held February 14-15 at San Jose Country Club.
After a little over a month away from the course, the Tigers will head out west to play in the Red Rocks Invitational hosted by Northern Arizona University. The black and gold will play alongside 20 teams at Oak Creek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz. March 19-20.
The next week, Towson will travel back to Florida to play in the Babs Steffens Invitational hosted by Stetson University March 27-28. This is the second time in the tournament's history that it has been held at the LPGA International Hills Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Tigers will return to Maryland April 9-10 to compete in the Hoya Invitational hosted by Georgetown University at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville.
Later that week, the black and gold will close out their season at the CAA Championship. The tournament will take place at St. James Reserve Course in Southport, N.C. April 15-17. In last year's tournament, the Tigers finished fifth of seven teams.
"The preparation we continue to do and continued hard work toward our new goals for the spring will increase our stamina for a full, successful season," said Briggs. "I am very proud of what the ladies have accomplished and am very excited to see what we have in store with focus and fine tuning. Go Tigers!"
