BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Towson University men's golf team has officially wrapped up the fall campaign, tying for fifth place at the conclusion of the Lehigh Invitational. The Black & Gold earned a final score of 602 (+26) after rounds of 297 and 305.
Sr. John's University won the tournament as the only team to finish under par, earning a final score of 571 (-2). Yuxuan Song of Lehigh University was the top finisher after rounds of 72 and 67. He finished at 5-under.
Brad Riley led for the Tigers, finishing fifth in a field of 78 players. The senior earned a final score of 145 (+1) after rounds of 71 and 74. He had a strong second round performance, earning three birdies for the final 18 holes.
Ending the tournament at 3-over was
Justin Griffith. The graduate student finished tied for 11
th after shooting 71 and 76 respectively. Griffith found his way to the leaderboard for number of pars, earning 23 for the tournament.
Julian Gonzalez finished tied for 30
th after consistent rounds of 76 and 76. The graduate student was on the leaderboard for amount of birdies for the tournament, earning eight over the course of 36 holes.
Jeremy Summerson had a consistent performance as well, shooting 79 and 79. He finished the tournament at 14-over.
Ryan Peters rounded out the squad after rounds of 82 and 80.
The Tigers have had quite a successful fall campaign, finishing in the top five for five of the six tournaments the team has competed in. The Black & Gold will spend the next couple months preparing for their spring campaign beginning in 2023.
