LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Towson University men's golf team is off to a steady start after day one of the Bucknell Fall Invitational. With two more days to go they are currently tied for tenth out of 19 teams after earning a score of 297 (+17).
Rider and Robert Morris University lead the field after both teams earned scores of 287 (+7) for the day.
Julian Gonzalez was the top finisher the Tigers after shooting a 71 for the first 18 holes. Gonzalez recorded two birdies during his day one performance and ended up tied for ninth.
Up next was
Jeremy Summerson who currently sits tied for 20
th. Summerson shot 3-over and notched one birdie for the day.
Following Summerson was graduate student
Ryan Peters who finished the first round tied for 43
rd after shooting a 75.
Brad Riley and
Justin Griffith round out the squad for today after they both shot 8-over. Riley had a solid start, notching two back-to-back birdies on holes 8 and 9.
The Black and Gold will be back for day two of the tournament tomorrow.
