Women's Golf Announces Spring 2023 Schedule

TOWSON, MD. – Towson University women's golf head coach, Shannon Briggs, has announced the spring 2023 slate for the Tigers.

"Student athlete player experience was the focal point in planning our 2023 spring tournament schedule," Briggs stated. "Preparing the ladies early season with an opportunity to compete and experience continued team synergy in impactful locations will be optimal for Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) preparation. The excitement encourages commitment for the ladies to prepare over the holiday stretch, noting individual tournament preparation to return to campus with a continued energized approach."

The Tigers will have a busy March, with three out of the four spring tournaments. To kick things off, the team will travel to Oahu, Hawaii for the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, hosted by the University of Hawaii. The 54-hole event will take place from March 6-7 with 7:30 a.m. shotgun starts on both days.

The following week, the Black & Gold will head to Northern Arizona University for the Red Rocks Invitational. The tournament will take place at the Oakcreek Country Club from March 18-19. The team found success at last year's event, breaking two school records and placing eighth out of 19 teams.

After competing at the Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Virginia during the 2022 fall season, the Tigers will be returning to the same course for the Kingsmill Intercollegiate hosted by William & Mary from March 27-28.

Wrapping up the regular season, the Black & Gold will compete in the CAA Championships from April 14 – 16. The 54-hole tournament will take place at the St. James Plantation Reserve Course in Southport, North Carolina.

The dates and locations for the PGA Works Championships and NCAA Regionals will be determined and announced at a later date.

"It's a full season of competition," Briggs shared. "The ladies are excited to continue testing and fine tuning their skills this spring on and off the course! Goh Tigers!"
